HOPLEYS GREEN FAMILY

 

William Jenkins (1864-1931) a Quaker who was bom at the Swydd Farm in Penybont (Llandegley parish) but moved with his parents Evan and Mary Jenkins to Hopleys Green in the 1870s, Married Mary Lewis (1877-1961)They had 10 children 

 

Edward (Jim) (1900-70) emigrated to Sydney Australia, married Annetta -

Son  Barry ( dec) who married but did not have any children

 

Elizabeth Mary (Bessie) Morgan farmed at Dilwyn - 5 sons, 1 daughter

Vincent, Neville, David, Mervyn, Rowland, Jane

 

William George (1903-90) lived at Hopleys Green, married Mona Jones,sister of Gwen who married Donovan, now living in Kington

No children

 

Richard John farmed Ross Caple, Kingsland, married Gretta Jones - 2 sons

Les who married Jean and David widower  ,

 

Thomas Howard (1906-1991)worked for a time at the Emporium with

William Thomas  (see above), later emigrated to Melbourne Australia married Thea - 2 sons 1 daughter

Neville (dec) married Norma Dec

Rodney married Louise (dec)

Jillian Married Bill, John and Wayne –at separate times!.

 

Evelyn Mary (Molly) married Reg Gadsby who was in the army - 4 sons 1

daughter.

John, Billy, David, Graham, Anne (known as Topsy)

 

David Rowland (1912-92) lived at Hopleys Green

 

Norah married Owen Watson, lived Hereford then Kingsland - 2 sons

Andrew and James

 

Olive Annie married Harvey Jones, farmed Newhouse Farm, Kimbolton -

3 sons 1 daughter..

Roger, Basil, Edmund, Mary

 

Percy married Blodwen Door, farmed at Kinnersley - 2 daughters
